Educational Programs Offered

  • Poultry Symposium: This is held annually in most years at sites in Southern California and the San Joaquin Valley. The meeting program is directed toward egg and poultry producers. For information contact: Ralph Ernst, Francine Bradley or Doug Kuney.
  • Egg Processing, Packaging and Marketing Workshop: Held annually in Southern California and the San Joaquin Valley. The primary audience is people involved in egg processing and marketing. For information contact: Gideon Zeidler.
  • Poultry Health Symposium: An educational program addressing poultry and avian health problems and their prevention. The program is organized by Carol Cardona.
  • Avian Science Day: This annual meeting is held on the UC Davis campus. It is organized by Bradley for 4-H Leaders, Junior Leaders, and members. For information contact: Francine Bradley.
  • 4-H  Poultry Judging Contest: This contest is held annually for 4-H teams with the winning team qualifying to represent California at the National Poultry Judging Contest.  For information contact: Francine Bradley.
  • State Fair Exhibit: Francine Bradley organizes avian exhibits at the California State Fair. UC Davis students are hired to supervise the exhibits and answer questions from the public. The exhibit includes incubation, hatching and adult birds. For information contact: Francine Bradley.
  • Avian Bowl: This competitive event is organized by Francine Bradley. Several contests are held at fairs and field days with the state qualifier finals held at the State Fair. For information contact: Francine Bradley.
