Madera County Mineral Data
Selenium
Data from 30 samples submitted to the California Veterinary Diagnostic Lab (CVDL) suggest Se deficiency is common. There is insufficient data to be conclusive. Further testing is needed.
Copper
Data from 19 samples submitted to the California Veterinary Diagnostic Lab (CVDL) suggest serum Cu levels are marginal. Liver samples (13) are a better diagnostic tool and averaged 163 ppm (SD 110) with wide variation. This suggests some cattle are deficient. There is insufficient data to be conclusive, but Cu status appears marginal. Further testing is needed.
Zinc
Data from 13 samples submitted to the California Veterinary Diagnostic Lab (CVDL) suggest Zn is adequate. There is insufficient data to be conclusive. Further testing is needed.
