  • Tom Famula awarded a regional United States Department of Agriculture Sciences Excellence for Excellence in College and University Teaching in the Food and Agricultural Sciences administered by the Higher Education Programs of the USDA coordinated with the Association of Public & Land-Grant Universities
  • Jeff Mason alum of Gary Anderson’s lab accepted faculty position at Utah State Veterinary School.
  • Foodchain grants and admin team will be minimally staffed during last two weeks of Dec, please plan accordingly!
  • Dr. Famula was quoted in the Wall Street Journal for an article about breeding service dogs

OUTREACH AND TRAVEL

  • Dana van Liew participated in 3 UCD Gold Star College Recruitment Programs: Cabrillo Community College, Monterey Peninsula College and Carmel High School
  • Frank Mitloehner presented the UCD ANS program at the Board of Directors meeting of the American Feed Industry Assoc (AFIA).

  • Beth Robb awarded the Stephen J. O'Brien Award for the best student paper published in the Journal of Heredity for the paper Robb, E.A., C.L. Gitter, H. Cheng and M.E. Delany. 2011.
