  • Animal Science major Kathleen Furtado awarded the Nancy Raup Tibbitts scholarship from the UCD College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences
  • Jim Oltjen awarded the Horizon Award by the California Beef Cattle Improvement Association; the award recognizes those who have contributed to the advancement of performance beef cattle in California. The Horizon Award was first presented in 1985

OUTREACH AND TRAVEL

  • Gabrielle Simon, Cass Tucker, Alison Van Eenennaam, Bryan Welly, Dan Sehnert, Jim Oltjen attended the California Cattlemen’s Annual Convention & the ANR meetings. Gabrielle presented her research on “Assessing Cattle Health and Handling on Cow-calf Operations” and Alison was the keynote speaker for the CBCIA hosted Cattlemen’s College Friday. Alison’s topic “Eating Meat from Cattle Fed GMOs: How Natural is That?” was well received
