  • Action Jackson’s offspring excel at Bishop Mule Days: Action’s Protégé owned by UCD ANS & shown by ANS student Erin McCarty & Joel Viloria, barn manager was World Champion Donkey (points from donkey western, english, driving, gymkhana and halter events); Actions’s Shinanigan – World Champion Fun Mule (points from racing events) owned by Dan Sehnert; Action’s Red Rose – World Champion Ranch Mule (points from cattle work)

OUTREACH AND TRAVEL

  • The ANS Student Sheep Show and Management Team Rebecca Barnett (chair), Kelly Braxton-Semonsen, Savanah Miller, Anna Halle, Hannah Van Duzer mentored by Dana Van Liew hosted another successful sale and sheep outreach event at the sheep unit May 26th
  • Alison Van Eenennaam spoke at the U.S. Dairy Education & Training Consortium (USDETC) in Clovis, New Mexico about “Respiratory Disease Prevention: Opportunities for Genetic Selection” and  “The use of GMOs in the dairy industry, and implications for mandatory GE process-based labeling
  • Frank Mitloehner conducted a dairy odor workshop for the Board of Directors for Tillamook Cheese Coop in Tillamook Oregon
  • Alison Van Eenennaam participated in the Genome Canada Large-Scale Applied Research Project Grant Review in Toronto, Canada
