  • Alexa Johnson, Kristan Reed & Ermias Kebreab author “Short communication: Evaluation of nitrogen excretion equations from cattle” in J Dairy Sci
  • Mandi Finger (PI) Andrea Schreier (co-PI) awarded grant from the California Department of Water Resources entitled "Development of an adaptive reintroduction plan for the Delta smelt" to fund workshops and research for the conservation of the Delta Smelt

OUTREACH AND TRAVEL

  • Alison Van Eenennaam spoke at the American Wagyu Association Conference on “Gene Editing: what is it and how might it be used in animal breeding programs” in Coeur d’Alene, ID
  • Jim Oltjen in Krakow Poland for the International Scientific Committee of the International Symposium on Energy and Protein Metabolism and Nutrition  
  • Ermias Kebreab Attended the IPCC Scoping meeting in Minsk, Belarus on the invitation of the Technical Support Unit of the IPCC to potentially revise emission estimates from livestock
  • Frank Mitloehner working with colleagues at College of Animal Science, Yangling, China  
  • Alison Van Eenennaam spoke at the Cornell Alliance for Science fellows training program on “Animal Biotechnology: Opportunities and Challenges” in Ithaca, NY  & participated in Cornell University’s new edX Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), “Science and Politics of the GMO
  • Francine Bradley presented at the World's Poultry Congress to the WPSA Board, WPSA branch secretaries, & WPSA Council Meeting; she was re-elected for a 6th term as Treasurer of the World's Poultry Science Association and is now entering her 21st year in service
  • Yeunshin Lee attended the Association of Zoos & Aquariums Annual Conference in San Diego; she was an invited speaker for the “Sound in Zoos” Session and Roundtable
  • Juan Medrano presented “The new bovine genome reference assembly and its value for genomic research” at Suntory Global Innovation Research Center in Kyoto, Japan
