  • Dr. Rosanne Taylor, Dr. Jacqui Norris & Chris Lawrance from the University of Sydney presented at a Study Abroad Information Session for undergraduate students in the department; their School of Veterinary Medicine admissions staff is interested in recruitment of UC Davis students to the veterinary medicine program
  • Richard Blatchford, Joy Mench, Maja Makagon, & Tina Horback hosted Christine Nicol's laying hen welfare group from Bristol University, UK to foster collaboration in research

  • Huaijun Zhou presented a keynote talk on FAANG Initiative: Functional Annotation of Regulatory Elements in Livestock at Australasian Genome Technologies Association Conference and 8th Annual New Zealand Next Generation Sequencing Conference held in Auckland, New Zealand
  • Richard Blatchford & Matthias Hess gave lightning talks to the CA&ES Dean’s Advisory Council
  • Alison Van Eenennaam gave two presentations at the XVI Latin American Genetics Congress, Montevideo, Uruguay on “The synergistic use of molecular markers, biotechnology, genomic selection and advanced reproductive technologies in livestock breeding programs” and “Using genome editing to introgress desirable intragenic and intergenic alleles to accelerate the rate of genetic gain in meat animal breeding programs”
