ongratulations on finding this website for the Avian Sciences Club! The Avian Sciences (AVS) club is a social Club whose goal is to offer undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in birds the opportunity to gather and speak comfortably about their experiences.  Thanks to the diversity of these bird interests, the Club enjoys a rich social and academic culture.

The AVS Club also enjoys a strong affiliation with both the Avian Sciences and Animal Science Departments.  Monthly meetings provide an excellent opportunity for club and faculty members to meet.  Also, the club’s executive committee communicates frequently with faculty in order to keep abreast of opportunities for its members such as internships and jobs.

The Club also offers its members a variety of fun off-campus activities to choose from.  These activities may include bird watching in various Yolo county locations, trips to wildlife parks such as Safari West Wildlife Preserve, trips to local bird breeders, and recreational activities like kayaking.

Meetings are usually held in Wellman 109, some exceptions for guest speakers or workshops. Meeting times vary so please email us for more info. There is no fee for Club membership. Whether your major is Avian Sciences, Art Studio, or Philosophy, if you like birds, we’re the club for you!

For more information about the AVS Club, the President welcomes your email.
