**Little International Stock Show**

The Little International Stock Show (“Little I”) was started in 1926 and originally prepared for the annual International Stock Show in Chicago. It has since been carried on as a tradition of Block and Bridle to teach students about showmanship and showing animals they have never taken into the show ring before.

The University of California, Davis owns the animals used in the show. The students select their animals almost two months before the show and spend hours working with them. After the two months, the students are judged on their showmanship skills and fitting abilities (grooming), not the quality of the animal.

The two best individuals from each class are selected for “Round Robin”, in which they are required to show all species of animals. A winner is selected from the group as the best overall showman.

This Show is open to ALL undergraduate students who have limited or zero experience with an animal species. The animal species offered include: Horses, Dairy Heifers, Angus Heifers, Goats, Sheep, and Hogs. There is a $20 entry fee to help pay for the prizes and t-shirts for all participants. The Show Date is to be held December 1, 2007.
