The University of California Davis,
the Department of Animal Science and the School of Veterinary Medicine California Center
for Equine Health and Performance, are pleased to once again offer an exciting and
excellent program for your education and enjoyment. Over the years, these symposia have
provided a wealth of information on many different aspects of horse husbandry and equine
medicine. The Department of Animal Science Horse Barn and the School of Veterinary
Medicine California Center for Equine Health and Performance are involved in a great many
areas of teaching, breeding and research on this campus. It is through the committed
endeavors of those who work at these facilities that the quality of life of our horses
continues to improve. We depend on your interest and support.
The 1996 Horse Day Symposium will be held in the Main Theater, which is located on
Hutchison Drive on the west side of the UC Davis campus. Parking is available in lots 5A
and 5 at the corner of A street and Old Davis Road, and in lot 10 on the corner of Second
and A streets. There is no charge for parking. On-site registration will begin at 7:30 am.
Please be aware that this program may be too technical for people under age 12.

Demonstration: Following the lecture program, a tour of the School of Veterinary
Medicine's Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and the California Center for Equine
Health and Performance. THIS TOUR IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 100 PEOPLE - PRE-REGISTRATION IS
REQUIRED. Alternatively, a demonstration on First Aid and Horse Packing in the Wilderness
will be presented at the Animal Science Horse Barn Arena. The arena is within walking or
driving distance; parking is available in lots 46 and 47. There is no extra
charge for the tour or demonstration.
