Mr. Kirk Adkins has been the farrier at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital since 1986. He is a member of the American Farrier's Association and a Certified Journeyman.  He teaches Farrier Science to both Animal Science majors and veterinary students.  He is an official farrier for the US-World Endurance Event.

Dr. Carolyn Stull received her Ph.D. degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois.  Currently as a Cooperative Extension Specialist, Dr. Stull directs the School of Veterinary Medicine's Animal Welfare Program focusing on the well-being on agricultural animals including the horse.  Currently her research is focused on the nutritional rehabilitation of the starved horse, and transportation stress in show and slaughter horses.

Dr. Scott Stanley received his Ph.D. degree in toxicology from the University of Kentucky.  In 1997, Dr. Stanley joined the faculty at the UC Davis Veterinary School.  He is a co-director of the Equine Analytical Chemistry Program, a section of the California Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory System at the School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Lisa Jeanes graduated with a D.V.M. degree from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.  She spent one year doing an internship at the prestigious Rhode and Rittle Equine Veterinary Hospital in Lexington, K.Y.  She is presently a second year internal medicine resident at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Robert Bray is a Professor of Animal Science and Director of the Equine Outreach Program at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.  He is actively involved in research on equine nutrition, has published extensively and serves as an equine nutrition consultant.  Recently, Dr. Bray and his graduate students have been working on nutrition programs for exotic animals at the San Diego Zoo.  Dr. Bray has currently written a practical "hands-on" equine nutrition manual designed for the horse owner.

Ms. Martha Aitken has been a breeder, trainer and exhibitor of American Saddlebred horses and crossbreeds for more than 25 years.  She currently owns and operates The Long Grey Line Farm in Huntsville, Alabama, where she raises horses, Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs and assorted other livestock and birds.  She is the author of more than 150 articles in national magazines and in The Huntsville News. She is an American Horse Show Association Dressage Sport Horse Breed Judge and American Warmblood Registry Judge.
