Kirk Adkins has been a farrier at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital since 1986. He is a member of the American Farrier's Association and a Certified Journeyman. He teaches Farrier Science to both Animal Science majors and veterinary students. He is an official farrier for the US-World Endurance Event.

Dr. Robert Bray is a Professor of Animal and Veterinary Science and Director of the Equine Outreach Program at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He is actively involved in research on equine nutrition, has published extensively and serves as an equine nutrition consultant. Recently, Dr. Bray has been working on nutrition programs for exotic animals at the San Diego Zoo. He is the author of a practical "hands-on" equine nutrition manual designed for the horse owner.

Dr. Gary Carlson is Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Epidemiology, School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Carlson graduated from Veterinary School at UC Davis in 1966. After completion of graduate training he joined the faculty of the Veterinary School as a clinician in the large animal clinic in equine internal medicine. Dr. Carlson is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the American College of Pathologist - Clinical Pathology. Dr. Carlson's research interests are in equine internal medicine, exercise physiology and fluid, electrolyte and acid-base balance.

Dr. Renee Golenz is an equine veterinarian who owns and operates North Valley Equine Veterinary Service in Davis, CA. An Ohio State U graduate, she completed a 3 year residency program at UC Davis VMTH in large animal internal medicine in 1993 and has been practicing ever since. Her specialties are reproduction and internal medicine.

Dr. Frank Hurtig received his DVM from Kansas State University in 1982 and his MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 1999. Clinical equine and mixed practice in the Denver, CO area were followed by positions on the Technical Service and Marketing staff of Merck over the past 10 years. During that time he was highly involved in the introduction of Gastrogard(R) (omeprazole) and marketing of Eqvalan(R) (ivermectin) for horses.

Dr. Carter Judy is a 1997 graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine where he won the prestigious Calif. Thoroughbred Breeders Foundation Scholarship, and the Calif. Vet Med Assoc. Practice excellence award for his senior year. He then completed a 1 year internship at Texas A&M before returning to UC Davis. He is currently serving his 3rd of a 3 year surgery resideny at the Vet Med Teaching Hospital.

Dr.Stuart Meyers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy, Physiology, and Cell Biology in the School of Vet Med at UC Davis. He is a board-certified reproductive specialist by the American College of Theriogenologists and specializes in equine fertility. Prior to joining the faculty at UC Davis in 1999, Dr. Meyers was on the faculty at New Bolton Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Meyers is a graduate of Michigan State University's College of Vet Med and completed a residency in Large Animal Reproduction at Texas A&M University. He has been in equine reproduction practice and broodmare farm management.
