 General Information

The EIGHTEENTH ANNUAL HORSE DAY SYMPOSIUM will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 11 - 12th, 2003. Once again we are pleased to offer an exciting and excellent program for your educational enjoyment. The main program will be held in the Main Theater, which is located on Hutchison Drive on the east side of the UC Davis campus. Parking is available in Lots 5A and 5 at the corner of A Street and Old Davis Road and in Lot 10 on the corner of First and A Streets. There is no charge for parking. On-site registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. Please be aware that this program may be too technical for people under age 12.

Registration

Registration fee for Horse Day, Oct 11, includes all course materials and refreshments. Pre-registration (mail-in) is $25.00 ($20.00 ea. for a group of 10 or more).  A box lunch is available for $6.75 on Saturday.  Registration fee for Farrier Science Workshop, Oct 12, is $50 for lectures in the AM or $150 for lectures and afternoon lab.

Deadline for postmarked pre-registration is October 1, 2003. NO refunds will be given after October 8, 2003. Registration for Horse Day at the door is $40.00. Lunch will not be available for purchase at the door. 

Directions

From I-8O take the UC Davis exit. Turn North on Old Davis Road. Continue straight toward the Mondavi Center. Turn left onto Mrak Hall Dr. Turn right onto Old Davis road. Continue to A Street. Visitor Parking 5 will be on your right at the junction of Old Davis Rd. and A St. Walk north on A St., turn west on Hutchison Dr. The Main Theater will be on your left.

Demonstration or Tour

Following the lecture program on Horse Day, a demonstration on training the weanling will be presented at the Animal Science Horse Barn Arena. You may drive and park in either lot 46 or 47 (see map).

Alternatively, a tour is available of the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital (VMTH). A map to the VMTH will be provided at the Horse Day registration desk. There is no charge for this tour, but pre-registration is required and space is limited to the first 50 people.
