Kirk Adkins, Certified Farrier: Kirk is a farrier for the UC Davis Veterinary School, and has a private practice. He is the instructor of the Farrier Science Course in the Department of Animal Science. He is a member of the American Farrier’s Association, a Certified Journeyman and an official farrier for the US-World Endurance event. In addition, he is the owner of Equithotics, Inc, a company that developed and markets a special hi-tech performance shoe called the Sneaker. 

Robert Bray, PhD: Dr. Bray is an equine nutrition professor in the Animal & Veterinary Sciences Department at California State University, Pomona. He has his own consulting business, RE Bray Animal Nutritional Consulting, and has developed the Equine Advantage Feed Line, which is manufactured by O H Kruse. He recently finished writing the second edition of his manual on Equine Nutritional Management and Nutrition. 

Craig London, DVM: Dr. London practices veterinary medicine in Bishop, CA and is co-owner of Rock Creek Pack Station and Mt Whitney Pack Trains. He graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and has taught many UC Davis Extension courses on veterinary care and wilderness horse packing. \

John Madigan, DVM: Dr. Madigan is a professor in the Department of Medicine and Epidemiology in the School of Veterinary Medicine, UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized expert in foal medicine as well infectious diseases. Dr. Madigan is the associate director of the VMTH Large Animal Clinic. For the past several years, Dr. Madigan has been actively involved as a consultant on horse emergency rescues across the country. 

Cecilia Torres-Penedo, PhD: Cecilia Penedo received her PhD in Genetics from the University of California, Davis. She heads the Genomic Research & Development Unit of the Veterinary Genetics Laboratory, School of Veterinary Medicine, UC Davis. Her research on horses focuses on the genetics of coat color and diseases with a view at identifying the genes and mutations associated with the traits and developing diagnostic assays. Current research includes mapping the genes for Dun, Silver, Champagne, Curly hair, cerebellar abiotrophy and lavender foal syndrome. 

Charles Wilhelm, Trainer: Charles is a Classical Naturalist and founder of C.W. Training Center in Castro Valley, CA. He built his foundation training techniques in the John Lyons certification program and studied classical dressage under Major Miguel Tavora. Charles presents seminars and demonstrations throughout the country and also holds clinics at his facility on a monthly basis. www.cwtraining.com 

W. David Wilson, DVM: Dr. Wilson is a professor in the Department of Medicine and Epidemiology in the School of Veterinary Medicine, UC Davis. He is the leading expert on infectious diseases and preventive disease management. The American Association of Veterinary Medicine relies on Dr. Wilson for the latest information on vaccination schedules. Dr. Wilson has been an invited speaker at national and international professional meeting and conferences. He is currently investigating various vaccination schedules for the young foal.
