The 2005 Horse Day Symposium is presented by the Department of Animal Science, the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association, and the American Warmblood Registry General Information
The 20th Annual Horse Day Symposium will be held
on Saturday and Sunday, October 8 & 9, 2005. Once again we are pleased
to offer an excellent program for your educational enjoyment.
The main Horse Day program on the 8th will be held in Freeborn Hall, which
is located on North Quad Avenue on the north side of the UC Davis campus. Parking is
available in the North Entry Parking Structure off Howard Way. There is no charge for
parking. On-site registration will begin at 7:15 a.m. Please be aware that
this program may be too technical for people under age 12.
Registration
The registration fee for Horse
Day on Oct 8 includes all course materials and refreshments.
Pre-registration (mail-in) cost is $25.00 ($20.00 each for a group of 10 or
more). A boxed lunch is
available for $6.75 on Saturday. Registration
fee for Farrier Science Workshop on
Oct 10 is $50 for
morning
lectures only or $150 for both the lectures and the afternoon lab. Deadline for postmarked pre-registration is October 1, 2005. NO refunds will be given after October 5, 2005. Registration for Horse Day at the door is $40.00. Lunch will not be available for purchase at the door. Demonstration or Tour
Following the lecture program, a cutting demonstration by experienced cutting horse trainer Kirsten Hempel will be presented at the Animal Science Horse Barn Arena. Alternatively, a tour of the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital (VMTH) is available. There is no additional charge, but pre-registration is required and space is limited to the first 50 people.
