The 2006 Horse Day Symposium is presented by the Department of Animal Science, the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association, and the American Warmblood Registry. General Information
The 21st Annual Horse Day Symposium will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 14th and 15th, 2006. Once again we are pleased to offer an exciting and excellent program for your educational enjoyment. The main program will be held in Freeborn Hall, which is located on the north side of the UC Davis campus. Parking is available in the North Entry Parking Structure off of Howard Way. There is no parking charge. On-site registration will begin at 7:15 am. Please be aware that this program may be too technical for people under age 12.
Registration
Pre-registration for both Horse Day and the Farrier Workshop is conducted by mail only.
The registration fee for Horse Day on Oct 14th includes all course materials and light refreshments. The cost is $25 ($20 each for a group of 10 or more) for Horse Day, October 14th. Horse Day pre-registrants may order a box lunch for $6.75; lunch will not be available for purchase at the door. Registration at the door will be $40.
The registration fee for the Farrier Workshop on October 15th includes refreshments and all course materials. The cost is $150 for both the lecture and wet lab or $50 for the lecture only. Deadline for postmarked pre-registration is October 1st, 2006. No refunds will be issued after October 11th, 2006. Registration for Horse Day at the door is $40.00. Lunch will not be available for purchase at the door. Demonstration or Tour
Following the lecture program on October 14th, Jeannine Berger, an experienced instructor and trainer with the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital (VMTH) Clinical Animal Behavior Service, will give a demonstration on obstacle training challenges. This will be presented at the Animal Science Horse Barn Arena. Alternatively, a tour of the VMTH is available. There is no additional charge, but pre-registration is required and space is limited to the first 50 people. Free parking is available at both locations. Contact Alexis Cole
