The Twenty-Second Annual Horse Day Symposium
Saturday and Sunday, October 13th and 14th, 2007
Once again we are pleased to offer an exciting and excellent pro-gram for your educational enjoyment. The main program will be held in Freeborn Hall, which is located on the north side of the UC Davis cam-pus. Parking is available in the North Entry Parking Structure off of Howard Way. There is no parking charge. On-site registration will be-gin at 7:15 am. Please be aware that this pro-gram may be too technical for people under age 12.
Pre-registration is conducted by mail only. The cost is $25 ($20 each for a group of 10 or more) for Horse Day, October 13th. Horse Day pre-registrants may order a box lunch for $7.75; lunch will not be available for purchase at the door. Registration at the door will be $40. The cost for the Farrier Workshop on October 14th is $150 for both the lecture and wet lab or $50 for the lecture only. Registration fees include refreshments and all course materials.
The deadline for postmarked pre-registration forms is October 1st, 2007. No refunds will be issued after October 10, 2007.
Demonstration or Tour
Following the lecture program on October 13th, the UC Davis Inter-Collegiate Polo Team, coached by Michael O’Farrell, will give a demonstration that will include history, principles and rules, use of the mallet, horsemanship, as well as an exhibition match. This will be presented at the Animal Science Horse Barn Arena. Alternatively, a tour of the VMTH is available. There is no additional charge, but pre-registration is required and space is limited to the first 50 people. A map and driving directions are available online and will also be provided the day of the event. Free parking is available at both locations.
