Aquarius: Version
1.0 Release 1.05.003

The AQUARIUS program is the
first tool in market to evaluate closure rules
for shellfish industry and to perform a series
of “what-if” scenarios for various situations.
AQUARIUS uses the rainfall data to simulate the
open/close status of a given growing site for
any length of time under two closure rules: one
the current rule and the other proposed new
rule. In next step, AQUARIUS uses the fecal
coliform data from the given site to calculate
the “NSSP 14/43” standards. In next step,
AQUARIUS runs T-Tests statistical procedure to
compare the fecal coliform level of “site open
under current rule” versus “site open under new
rule”. Based on the results of NSSP 14/43”
standards and T-Tests, it rejects or accepts the
new closure rule.
Aquarius Version 2.0
will be released in the spring of 2008. Those
who purchase Aquarius 1.0 now, will receive a
free upgrade to Aquarius 2.0 and new manual upon
that release. The Slides and Paper pdf files
listed above illustrate the use of Aquarius 1.0,
and contain a description of the upcoming
version 2.0.
