Project: Quantitative assessment of alternatively spliced IGF-I
mRNA transcripts in murine liver and growth plate.
- Insulin-like growth factor I plays important roles in the
proliferation and maturation of growth plate chondrocytes. The
source of IGF-I comes from both the circulating IGF-I produced in
the liver and local IGF-I produced in the growth plate chondrocytes.
The purpose of my study is to investigate the expression patterns
and GH regulations of alternatively spliced IGF-I mRNA transcripts
in the liver and within the growth plate during rat postnatal
development.
