When I came back for my M.S. degree in 2005 I decided to work with Dr. Ed DePeters in the field of Dairy Cattle nutrition. I researched the nutritive effect of delignified sudangrass hay when fed to lactating dairy cows. I have always been fascinated with ruminant nutrition and how different feed components affected the rumen environment and, in turn, animal performance.
When I graduated in 2007, I joined Dr. Cassandra Tucker to investigate how dairy cattle interact with their environment and how this interaction affects the welfare of the cow. Since this field is differs from my nutritional training, I am constantly expanding my knowledge and research interests on a daily basis.
