Current Duties

  1. A variety of micromanipulation techniques are intimate with my duties including pronuclear injections, embryo splitting and somatic cell nuclear transfer in the cow, pig, sheep and goat. Currently an exciting project ongoing is nuclear transfer micromanipulation of bovine and ovine embryos in the assistance of two graduate students research, which resulted in successful pregnancies of bovine recipients including several cloned calves born.
  2. Provide surgical support in coordinating schedules, supplies, personnel, technical and husbandry needs for ongoing research.
  3. Perform DNA isolations, inventory of frozen samples, maintain and repair equipment, laboratory safety coordinator, and general laboratory technical services in support of ongoing projects.
