Department Development Board Welcomes New Members, Thanks Retirees

Department of Animal Science welcomes seven new members to its External Development Board: Ken Beer (aquaculture), Robert Bray (horses and "distance" learning), Laura Garvin (laboratory animals), Kip Herzog (dairy), Tim Indart (sheep), David Knudsen (laboratory animals), and Tom Sawyer (dairy). Membership is for three years.

Members who retired from the Board on July 1, 1995 include Jane Anderson, Tom Bachman, Willard Clark, Judy Ehlers, Paul Rollin, Peter Struffenegger and Gordon Van Vleck. The Department would like to thank these individuals for their generous service over the last three years.

The Development Board meets twice yearly, in May and November, to advise the Department on matters relating to its teaching, research and outreach goals.

The November 9th meeting of the Board was highlighted by the opportunity to meet Dr. W Reg Gomes, new Vice-President of the UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
