Freshman Enrollment in Animal Science Soars

One-hundred fourteen freshmen enrolled in our Animal Science major this fall. This represents a 39% increase in freshman enrollment over last year. Freshman enrollment in our Animal Science and Management major increased from 12 students in 1994 to 25 students this fall, a 108% increase.

This increase was due at least in part to the efforts of Carrie Russikoff (Advising Associate), Professor Graham Gall (Master Advisor), Professor Jim Fadel (Master Advisor), Dana Van Liew (Division Student Recruitment Officer) and a number of faculty who participated in the "admitted student" program last spring.

Uncommitted students who had expressed an interest in coming to UCD and majoring in one of our two Animal Science majors were invited to visit the campus and meet with our faculty. One hundred thirty-five people, including prospective students and their parents, participated in this activity
