Notable NotesAnimal Science graduate student Lisa Crocker was the recipient of the 1996-97 Antonio A. Jimenez Memorial Award. The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding graduate students based on their research activities and the value of their research to the dairy, livestock and poultry industries. The award is offered annually by the California/Nevada Chapter of the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists in honor of Dr. Jimenez, a highly regarded animal nutritionist. Congratulations to Dana Van Liew who received the Alpha Gamma Rho 1997 Alumni Achievement Award for his dedication to teaching the Animal Science Judging Team and his service to the fraternity. Dana is a lecturer in the department, manager of the department Sheep Facility and Student Recruitment Officer for the College Division of Animal Biology. Animal Science Professor Lee Baldwin and Extension Dairy Specialist Emeritus Don Bath were honored with the 1997 Fellow Awards from the American Dairy Science Association at the June, 1997 Annual Meeting in Guelph, Ontario. This is the first year that ADSA has presented Fellow Awards. Steve Culver, Animal Science Main Office Manager and Personnel Specialist for over 4 years, has taken on a new assignment as office manager with Polytron, a telecommunications company located in Sacramento. We wish Steve the best in his new position. Ann Mori is our new Main Office Manager. Animal Science Advising Associate Carrie Russikoff has become engaged to Gregory Devine of Woodland. They will be married in early September.
