Research
My research is on the reproductive and
developmental aspects of the physiological ecology of
fishes, with and application to aquaculture and natural
resource management. Previous research included study of
vitellogenesis in North American sturgeon fishes, effect of
environmental temperature on female white sturgeon at late
stages of ovarian maturation (ovarian follicular atresia),
and partial isolation, characterization, and physiological
function of white sturgeon gonadotropins. Currently my
research focus is on the effects of environmental
temperature and organic selenium on the survival and
notochord development of white and green sturgeon during
early ontogeny (embryo and larvae).
