Research
Currently, I am involved with
research that evaluates the use of new equipment to measure
the behavior and physiology response animals and knowledge
mathematical models that can be applied in studies of heat
balance and thermic exchange in ruminants. Our goal is to
advance animal production in the semi-arid region in Brazil
within the principles of animal welfare.
By visiting the Department of Animal Science at the
University of California Davis we were able to expand our
knowledge in Animal behavior, this included learning about
methodologies in how to determine animal environment,
behavior and physiological response through equipment. In
addition we learned how to utilize mathematical models which
can be applied to studies of heat balance and thermic
exchange in ruminants. Furthermore we establish networks for
future collaborations in research, education and extension
programs. The partnership among the Department of Animal
Science at University of California Davis, the University
Federal of Vale of São Francisco, Pernambuco, Brazil.
