Graduate Training

Approximately one hundred graduate students pursue their graduate research with the mentorship of Animal Science Faculty.

The Animal Biology graduate group is primarily housed in the Animal Science department and offers students the Master's degree. Ph.D. students may be members of one of the graduate groups on campus (for example, Animal Biology, Genetics, Nutrition, or Molecular, Cellular, & Integrative Physiology).

UCD has a long history of interdepartmental graduate groups where students are mentored in individual laboratories but have access to and training by all faculty members in the discipline in the graduate group.
