Animal Genomics Laboratory
Applications of next generation sequencing and systems biology approaches to study genetic variation of complex traits.  Genetics of milk composition – study of health and nutritional properties of cow and human milk, and application of genetic markers to improve manufacturing properties of milk.  Molecular phylogeny and SNP variation of wild populations of bears, wolves and coyotes.  Coffee transcriptome analysis - annotation and examination of gene expression differences between coffees grown at different altitudes.  Genetics of animal growth - characterization and mapping of growth and obesity QTL in mice and rats.
