- Congratulations!! PhD students Anna Jordan and Amanda Coen from the GVL, they were awarded 2nd place in the student oral presentation competition and 3rd place in the student poster presentation competition, respectively, at the Western Section of the Wildlife Society Meeting In Early February.
- Congratulations!! The Meat Lab attended and competed at the California Association of Meat Processors annual convention and cured meat show, Feb. 21, 22 & 23 at Cal Poly SLO. The UC Davis Animal Science Dept. Meat Lab, won Champion Snack Stick with the Pepperoni w/ Mozzarella & Sun Dried Tomato Aggie Stick and Champion innovative fresh sausage with their Frito Boat Sausage. Jared Hickory won one of two scholarships offered.

- Alison Van Eenennaam spoke on Alternative Meats and Science Communication to the Oregon Dairy Farmers' Association In Salem. OR: and on a webinar on recent developments in beef cattle genetics for National Beef Cattlemen's Association (NCBA).
