- Maci Lienemann Mueller, ABG Masters student made the UCD Graduate studies Grad Slam top 10 finalist list: the Grad Slam is an annual contest in which master’s and Ph.D. students across UC campuses in disciplines ranging from biology, physical, & humanities sciences compete by presenting their research in 3 minutes & 3 slides to a general audience. The winner competes in a UC system wide competition. Cheer her on in the final held Apr 14 at 1 pm (register here)
- Jordan Tonooko received the Undergraduate Research Center Travel Award to attend the Pacific Egg and Poultry Association Meeting, which Jordan attended and presented the results of her Animal Biology undergraduate thesis research

- Alison Van Eenennaam keynote speaker at the Snyder Livestock Bull event, Yerinton, NV
- Frank Mitloehner keynote speaker at the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) board meeting in Orlando Florida and presented testimony to the Oregon Senate on the proposed new air regulations for the OR dairy industry
- Three Genomic Variation Lab members presented talks at the annual Interagency Ecological Program workshop in Folsom, CA: Ann Holmes presented "High-Throughput Sequencing Provides Novel Insight into Cache Slough Complex Food Web", Mandi Finger presented "Development and Evaluation of an Environmental DNA (eDNA) Protocol to Monitor Wild Delta Smelt", and Daphne Gille co-presented "How Can a Delta Smelt Conservation Hatchery be Utilized for Species Recovery? Opportunities, Risks, and Benefits”
