    • Action Jackson 1987-2017: laid to rest today after a chronic bout of laminitis—a legendary mammoth jack siring sired multiple world champion performance mules and race mules and inducted into the American Donkey and Mule Society’s Versatility of Hall of Fame. He will be missed by so many in the mule world. See more in campus news.
    • UCD Animal Science Horse Barn Packing recognized with a custom made pack saddle and a luncheon for their win of the Intercollegiate Packing contest at Bishop Mule Days; winning team members were Erika Falk and Katie Ott, Madison Seeley, & Kayla Wigney
    • Erica Scott, grad student in Jim Murray’s lab, spoke on “Annotating long non-coding RNA in the horse transcriptome ” at the XXV Plant & Animal Genome Conference, San Diego
  • December 2016
    • Amy McLean attended the 62nd Annual AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) Convention in Orlando, Florida as well as volunteering and representing a Equitarian Initiative charity
  • November 2016
    • Jan Roser chaired the West Coast Equine Reproduction Symposium V held in Buellton, CA; Amy McLean and ANS assisted with the logistics
